In this special two part series, we decided to switch things around, and give you the opportunity to hear our answers to questions from our experience as international master trainers and having consulted for fitness businesses all over the world. For these episodes we brought on Jessica Sandow- an instructor in Oakland California, and our very own FCM Community Manager to come up with questions based on what she’s seen you ask in the FCM Community like “what do you recommend that studio owners do to retain their talent? Is it a matter of making them feel valued, or compensating them better?” or “how do you find time for learning?” and also just some fun questions like what our favorite movies are so you get the chance to know us better.
(2:00) What’s your favorite movie?
Just a fun question we didn’t get to hear Shay answer!
(5:00) How much sleep do you get? We know we need to go to bed early, but sometimes it’s hard! Also, how do you find time for learning? Do you calendar it?
We wake up so early as fit pros and teaching multiple classes is physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting! And with this routine, it can be hard to carve out time to continually learn and grow! (Unless you listen to the podcast on the go!)
(20:15) As international master trainers, what do you recommend that studio owners do to retain their talent? Is it a matter of making them feel valued, or compensating them better? As an instructor, what is most valuable to you?
Overall, we would rather work at a place where she made a little less that made her feel valued, appreciated, seen, and heard!
(32:15) What are some goals for Fitness Career Mastery in the coming year?
There is a TON of new stuff coming at you in 2020!
